This important message is in regard to Sunday Mass.
Given the continuing limitation on large public gatherings, and so as to allow people, who are not well or at higher risk of getting sick, to stay home, the following provisions will remain in effect until further notice:
At Mother of Sorrow Parish, each Mass whether it is a daily Mass or Sunday Mass, the maximum occupancy is 78 people. The basic rule is “First come, first take.” When the church is full by 78 people, you coming as 79th person can’t enter the church. You must go home and come back for next Mass time or try to attend less congested daily Mass. (Note: attending a daily Mass does NOT make up for Sunday obligation.)
People in vulnerable populations are strongly encouraged to stay home. For example, any adult who is over 65 years old, any child who is under 10 years old, anyone who has previous medical conditions, please stay home.
The general dispensation from the Sunday obligation to attend Mass by Archbishop Jose H. Gomez remains in place, which means due to the COVID-19, if there is any concern, you don’t have to come to church to fulfill Sunday obligation until further notice.
Once arriving at the parish, everybody must comply our safety protocols and practices. For example, wearing a facemask and keeping a social distancing of 6 feet are required. No mask, no church service.
